Sid Griffin at The Band On The Wall

Sid GriffinSid Griffin appears at the Band on the Wall in Manchester on Friday 5th June and North West Folk has two pairs of tickets to give away.

Griffin is the ex-leader of the Long Ryders, a foundation stone of Alt-country and an important link in the chain of Americana. He is currently the main man behind the Coal Porters and is performing solo for the first time in several years after releasing his highly-acclaimed solo album, The Trick Is To Breathe, which was Uncut magazine’s Americana Album Of The Month late in 2014 and appeared on many Best Of lists at the year’s end.

An author of four books including the Amazon best-selling music tome Million Dollar Bash: Bob Dylan, The Band & the Basement Tapes, Sid also wrote the liner notes for the recent Basement Tapes box set of Dylan’s legendary 1967 sessions. Sid is also heard frequently on BBC6 Music’s Radcliffe & Maconie show where he is “Resident Musicologist”.

For this new series of solo performances Sid Griffin will be playing solo across Europe and his native Kentucky before his Band on the Wall appearance so he should be in top notch form, his legendary skills as a raconteur refreshed and his acoustic 12-string guitar working at fever pitch.

"Sid Griffin was playing Americana years before the term was invented and that pioneer spirit shines on in his current music"  - Billy Bragg.

To win a pair of tickets, follow the link below typing Sid Griffin Tickets in the subject and text fields.  The first two names picked out of the hat get a pair of tickets each.
