Haddo in the Village

HaddoThe Village Folk Club in the centre of Manchester continues its fine series of concerts with the visit of Haddo aka husband and wife team Will and Nicky Pound.  The pair are toward the traditional end of the folk spectrum, but also include bluegrass and their own compositions in their range of material.

Having studied violin from an early age, Nicky Pound graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with a masters in Baroque Viola in 2009. During this time, she worked with the late Sir Charles Mackerras, Sir Colin Davies and Sir Elton John.

Will Pound is one of the world's top harmonica players and is now making a name for himself as a virtuoso melodeon player. He has previously been heard in the recording studio with ceilidh band Steamchicken and also guested on the recent release, Purpose and Grace, from Martin Simpson.  More recently, he received a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nomination for Best Musician.

Haddo appear at the Village Folk Club on 20th November.  Tickets priced at 8 can be obtained from the link below.
