The Whispering Road to Cumbria

whispering roadFor the first time in eight years, Nick Hennessey, Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer have re-combined as seriouskitchen to create a brand new show.

Drawing on the rich heritage of Scandinavian myths and stories, The Whispering Road blends Nick Hennessey's storytelling with Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer's  musicianship and their collective wealth and experience of Nordic traditional folk culture.

The Whispering Road tells the story of hope in the darkness, of two strangers bound by a ring and of the one who could not love.

The story is brought to life with accompaniment from the Swedish Nyckelharpa (keyed fiddle), säckpipa, (bagpipes), kohorn (cow horn), cittra and willow flute.  All presented against the backdrop of John Bauer’s Swedish artwork.

The show has two North West dates, both in Cumbria, the first at Dreamfired Storynights in Brigsteer on 16th November, the second at Skirwith Hall on 17th November. For further details and tickets visit the links below.
